President Bush has a plan to fix social security. Democrats have been faulted for not responding with a plan of their own although alternative suggestions exist.

One of those alternative plans is getting a good deal of attention. MIT economist Peter Diamond's recipe for fixing Social Security doesn't include President Bush's progressive price indexing.
