GOP's Woes

photo
Maybe it's just a bad case of second term blues, or maybe the deadly storm of Katrina, Majority Leader Tom Delay's indictment, and the war in Iraq, but Republicans in congress are looking like a headless turkey.

This week, Majority Leader Delay resigned his post after being indicted by a Texas grand jury on conspiracy charges. Without the man known as "The Hammer" at the helm, Republicans are facing a power vacuum, and fending off Democratic charges of corruption and cronyism.

To get an inside view of the Republican Party post-Tom Delay, we turn to former Republican Congressman Pat Toomey, Deroy Murdock, a syndicated columnist, and Whit Ayres a Republican pollster.

Guests:

Pat Toomey, former Republican congressman;
Deroy Murdock, syndicated columnist for Scripps Howard News Service;
Whit Ayres, Republican pollster with Ayres, Michenry and Associates.

This program aired on September 30, 2005. The audio for this program is not available.
