The Road Ahead for GOP

The Republican Party runs everything in Washington these days, from the White House to Capitol Hill — and the GOP is fighting mad, with itself.

A huge majority of Americans — nearly seventy percent now — believe the GOP-led country is headed in the wrong direction. The Republican Congress has sent deficit spending out of control, and no group is angrier about that than the Republican base.

On issue after issue, Americans now say they trust Democrats more than Republicans to lead — on the war, on corruption, on health care and the economy. And midterm elections are coming.
