Condi Rice and US Foreign Policy

It's a wild world out there — a little too wild lately — and six years into a Bush administration that promised security, humility and effectiveness, a lot of Americans are asking what's going on.

Asia is going nuclear with a North Korean A-bomb. The heart of the Mideast is apparently going nuclear with Iran unchecked. Iraq is still in meltdown above the world's most vital energy supplies.

These problems didn't start in 2000, but they sure didn't end then. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has suggested it's just a time of "turbulence" on the way to victory. Others see a crisis of crises.
