Week in the News: After Iowa

photo
Wow. This may not be the presidential campaign year many people expected.

Iowa has said its piece. And Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee have swept their parties' first election year contests. Not the big-money Romney or the big name Clinton but an inspiring young African American Illinois senator, and an Arkansas governor and longtime Baptist preacher who both campaigned on a hopeful message of change.

It's a brand new day here, and the fight has just begun.

This hour On Point: we grab the big news out of Iowa and look straight forward to what it means for New Hampshire and the country.Guests:

Hendrik Hertzberg, senior editor and staff writer at The New Yorker.

Dana Milbank, national political for the Washington Post and author of the new book "Homo Politicus: The Strange and Scary Tribes That Run Our Government."

Jack Beatty, On Point news analyst and senior editor at The Atlantic.

This program aired on January 4, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
