Writer and activist Bill McKibben says whether you know it or not, whether you’re willing to admit it or not, the party is over when it comes to saving the planet.

He’s tried, with others, and keeps trying. But the Earth as we knew it for ten thousand years, says McKibben, is gone.

It’s time to rename it. And he does. It’s time to re-imagine how we’ll have to live here. And he does.

It’s a simpler life. Shockingly simple. We’ve built a new Earth, he says. It’s not as nice as the old one, but it’s what we’ve got now.
