Gregory Zuckerman: Rajaratnam Trial Is Crucial
From today's show on insider trading and the Raj Rajaratnam trial: guest Gregory Zuckerman said that the case is critical to the future of the Securities and Exchange commission, whichever way the decision goes:
The SEC has been somewhat toothless in recent years. It was afraid of — I would argue — taking on big cases, so it's a crucial case for the SEC regulators in general, in that if they win this thing, it gives them encouragement to take on other ones, other big-name cases. And if they lose it, it does discourage them to some extent.
What do you think, could this be the beginning of a toothier SEC?
