George Zimmerman, charged with murder. Santorum throws in the towel.  All eyes on a rocket in North Korea. Our weekly news roundtable goes behind the headlines.

We waited all week for that North Korean rocket on its launch pad to head into space. It blasted off this morning and blew up eighty seconds later. Embarrassment in nuclear North Korea. Relief abroad.

On the US campaign trail, Rick Santorum blew up this week. Or “bowed out” we should say. And the “mommy wars” blew up again, over Ann Romney and her Cadillacs and her kids and what constitutes work.

George Zimmerman is in jail charged with Trayvon Martin’s murder. Ceasefire in Syria. Bubba wins the Masters.
