On Friday, we'll be at Wisconsin Public Radio broadcasting from Madison.

We're dedicating one hour of the show to the beauty of America's Great Lakes and the ecological peril they face. Author Dan Egan takes up the topic in his new book, "The Death and Life of the Great Lakes."

The Great Lakes constitute 20 percent of the globe's fresh water. They provide drinking water to 40 million people. And they're now infested with invasive species, brought in by the global shipping industry.

To add to our conversation, we want your stories. Do you live on the Great Lakes? Have you visited? And have you seen them change over the course of your life?

Comment below to get a jumpstart on the conversation, and we'll look to feature your contributions come Friday.
