Whose Tips?

Have you ever worked in a restaurant — or had to earn your livelihood through tips?  Let us know your story so we can include it in ours. The restaurant industry employs more than 300,000 people in Massachusetts, that's more than 9% of the state workforce.  The bulk of many restaurant workers' income is tips, but there’s been a wave of legal action over how the gratuities are shared. How should restaurant workers be paid ? Does the system need to change?

In 2004 the Massachusetts Attorney General's office issued a tips advisory to further clarify the law regarding how employers should handle gratuity.
