What Dirty Water?

Join us for a boat ride along the Charles River, made famous by the 1960s hit “Dirty Water”.  How is the river today?

There's lots to do along the 80 mile stretch of the Charles River.  Read on to find out more...

The Esplanade stretches across three miles of the river.  It's a favorite spot for runners, bikers, boaters and music lovers who come to shows at the Hatch Shell.

Community Boating offers sailing lessons and affordable membership for people of all ages.

The Charles River is cared for by a number of volunteers associated with the The Charles River Watershed.  Volunteers are responsible for all the water sampling that is done along the entire river.

Volunteers also pick up floating trash in the river. The Charles River Clean Up Boat goes out four times a week throughout the summer, and welcomes all willing hands.
