The Charter School Debate

The charter school conversation is always charged.    As the mayor's race approaches, candidates are taking on the issue with full force.  Yet what are the details?  Where do they really stand? What do citizens want? What do children need? How can diverse interests be served?

This week we talk about charter schools, not only in the sphere of politics but also as a community issue.   Are charter schools a detriment to other kids?  Does it favor the few?  Or is it a way to inspire and mobilize motivated children?  Can it give kids a second chance at opportunity
