Volunteering in Boston

At this time of year, thoughts turn to helping those less fortunate, and here in New England, we're particularly generous.  Volunteering goes up in November and December when folks look to help with soup kitchens and food pantries.  While non-profit organizations do everything they can to make use of the extra help, their needs are ever changing.  These days, organizations are increasingly looking for skilled labor, donated "pro bono."  They also, of course, always need money to help pay for skilled services, and buy supplies.  This week, we look at our region's culture of giving and volunteering.
