It's another Saturday afternoon and you're busy watching your burgers and hot dogs sizzle on the grill.  Your little boy decides to jump into the crowded pool and hits his head as he coasts into the water. The bleeding is serious and an ER visit is necessary.

But where should you go? Which hospital emergency room has the shortest wait time?  Starting this week, wait times at MetroWest Medical Center's two emergency centers, Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse in Natick, are at your fingertips.

MetroWest Medical launched the state's first texting program, allowing patients and families to text a code, 63311, to 437-411.  In minutes, the ER wait times are texted back. We perform our own test text.
