Radio Boston listeners may notice a new voice of the program: It's WBUR's Sacha Pfeiffer, who will be filling in for Meghna Chakrabarti until the end of the year. Meghna is away on maternity leave. Here is her note to listeners.
After several months helping Radio Boston get started as a daily show, it's time for my husband and I to get our family started, which means I'll be out until January. As you can hear, you'll be in great hands with Sacha Pfeiffer and the entire Radio Boston crew.
Radio Boston went daily in May. The program is off to a great start, and it's largely because of you. Your calls, feedback and vigorous and vital comments light up our online conversation. But more than that, they've helped prove that delivered with intelligence, integrity and verve, a show with a local soul and global outlook can work on public radio.
I've been thrilled and humbled to be part of the Radio Boston team and I can't wait to be back. Until then, you keep listening, tweeting and posting to our website.
Sacha, I'll try to resist the urge to pick up the phone and surprise you with, "Hi! Long time listener, first time caller!"
To all of you: I will see you in January, and thanks!
This program aired on August 25, 2010.
