WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov reports a suprising story this morning: Boston's Pine Street Inn — New England's largest homeless shelter organization — is actually taking down beds due to declining demand.

Is it the improving economy? Brady-Myerov's reporting says no. It's thanks to a radical, five-year-old strategy to get people off the streets that actually seems to be working. Brady-Myerov has been following the program from the start, and she gives us the details of its success.
