When You Can't Stop: Blocker Apps Keep Drivers From Texting

If you were on a highway in Massachusetts this weekend, it was hard to miss the flashing electronic signs warning drivers that texting while driving it now illegal. Unless you were texting, of course.

Boston Globe technology reporter Hiawatha Bray says that while the ban on texting behind the wheel may save lives, it could also provide a little economic stimulus. That's because software developers are using their programming skills to develope new applications that help us keep our eyes on the road — instead of on our keypads.

We take some of these apps for a test drive in the studio.
