For 15 terms and nearly 30 years, the 4th Congressional District has been represented by Democrat Barney Frank, chair of the influential House Financial Services Committee. Political newcomer Sean Bielat is trying to end that long career — campaigning on the message "Retire Barney" — and his effort has received a lot of national attention.

Frank has a solid lead in the polls, but in recent weeks the race has appeared to tighten, and both candidates have been campaigning hard in the last days of the election season.

The two candidates join Radio Boston for a debate before Tuesday's election.

Guests:

  • Barney Frank, Democrat and U.S. Representative for the 4th Congressional District
  • Sean Bielat, Republican challenger

This program aired on October 27, 2010.
