Probation Department Report Released

The state's Supreme Judicial Court released its report on Thursday about alleged improprieties at the state's probation department. The report found what the justices called “systemic abuse and corruption of the hiring and promotion processes” and is ordering a major shakeup of the department.

The probation department originally came under scrutiny after a Boston Globe investigation found evidence of nepotism and patronage.
