Erin McLean's flirtation with "Jeopardy!" started when she was just a kid back in Danvers. Now a sophomore at Boston University, McLean made beating the game show a serious goal. And her strategy for winning? "It's a combination of studying," she explains, "but only the things I didn't know." (In her case, that means art).

She continues: "It's more important to look at the context clues. You don't have to know a lot; you just have to know a lot about things surrounding them. For example, 'Jeopardy!' often repeats questions, so if they ask you about a composer from Finland, you know it's going to be Sibelius, no matter what."

McLean came to our studio to tell us more about her experience -- and play from a category that is sorely missing from the show's line-up: Boston.

Guest:

  • Erin McLean, "Jeopardy!" college champion and BU sophomore
