A series of stories in the Boston Globe finds a growing number of kids are getting Supplemental Security Income for their families because they are diagnosed with ADHD, speech delays, and other behavioral and mental disabilities. The payments often help families make ends meet, but lax oversight means kids who outgrow their disabilities sometimes continue to receive the payments.
