A controversial report examined the clergy sex abuse scandal that rocked the Catholic Church almost 10 years ago.

The corruption trial of former House Speaker Sal DiMasi continued to reveal the dark underbelly of Beacon Hill. And legislatures in Massachusetts and Connecticut struggled — in very different ways — to handle the largest budget deficits in New England.
