Known by many as the world's premier banjo player, Bela Fleck is no stranger to bright lights.

Fleck has won more than 10 Grammy Awards. He's toured the world over. He's played with Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Sting and he has been on all of the late night shows. Now, he's coming to Lowell.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones will kick off the Lowell Summer Music Series Friday at Lowell's Boarding House Park. It's hard to pigeonhole Fleck and his band into a genre — they play everything from bluegrass to jazz — but they'll bring it all.

Before opening Lowell's concert series, though, Fleck will play live on Radio Boston.
