Trains and airplanes run into problems in Boston, but the biggest transit trouble was in the state Transportation Department where fallout continued over the handling of corroded light fixtures in the Big Dig tunnels.

Plus, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino criticizes Secure Communities, and the Supreme Judicial Court says it will have to close local courthouses due to budget cuts.

Radio Boston dives into the week's news.

Guests:

  • Julie Mehegan, deputy editorial page editor, Boston Herald
  • Joan Vennochi, columnist, Boston Globe

This program aired on July 15, 2011.
