House Speaker John Boehner scrambled to muster support in an advance of a vote on his version of a debt limit plan Thursday.

Senate Democrats have already said they would reject Boehner's proposal. And so with the all-important Aug. 2 deadline approaching steadily, there is still no sign of a deal.

Yesterday, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino called the Washington political posturing ridiculous, and said Boston faced a catastrophe if no deal is reached.

We ask Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone if he is as concerned about the possibility of a federal debt default, and what impacts it could have on Somerville.

Guest:

  • Joseph Curtatone, mayor of Somerville

This segment aired on July 28, 2011.
