The debt ceiling didn't get any higher this week, and it's hard to believe the mood in Washington could get any lower.

Meanwhile, after a 35-year absence, the National Urban League returned to a Boston much-changed from the busing-riot-torn city of 1976. Yet, as the city tries to shed its racist pass, clear inequities remain.
