An entire generation is leaving Cape Cod.

According to the latest census figures, the young adult demographic — those aged 25 to 44 — has declined by more than a quarter in the past decade. At the same time, the Cape has seen an increase in its elderly population.

Put those together and you've got signs of trouble for the Cape's health care system and the economy.
