Massachusetts No Haven For Elderly Care
ResumeAs parents of the baby-boomers grow older, and with the baby-boomers themselves trickling into retirement, the country is coming face-to-face with a pressing question: How do we care for the health and well-being of the elderly? And how do we pay for it?
Massachusetts is a pioneer when it comes to health care and in ensuring those with little means can get insurance. But when it comes to affordability and quality of long term care for the state's elderly, the Commonwealth is behind the pack — 30th compared to the rest of the states, according to a report published today by the AARP.
The report looked across a variety of categories including cost, support and quality of care.
