Nurses, Students Join Occupy Boston Movement
ResumeStudents from many Boston-area schools joined the Occupy Boston movement Wednesday, walking out of classes in support of the protesters.
At Northeastern, for instance, drum-playing and chanting students met as part of nationwide student walkouts tied to the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York City.
The pictures we've seen from Occupy Boston and Occupy Wall Street have featured a lot of young faces, so it's not all that surprising to hear that college students joined the protests in Dewey Square.
But here's something that's not quite as intuitive. Members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association are joining the "occupation."
The unionized nurses are having their annual convention this week at the Boston Marriott in Newton. A number of them boarded a bus and headed to the financial district to join the protesters.
