For first-hand insight into why Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank  has decided not to seek re-election, we have turned to James Segel, friend, advisor, and special counsel for Frank for more than 40 years.

A Harvard classmate of Frank, Segel was the congressman's point-person on the Dodd Frank financial reform law. He's currently a partner at the Boston lawfirm Smith, Segel & Ruddock.
