Melissa Ferrick, 'Still Right Here'

Melissa Ferrick was born and raised here in Massachusetts, and she's been singing, rocking and rolling for most of the past two decades.

At age four, she famously told her parents, "I've wanted to play the violin since before I was born."

Her parents saved up their money and bought her a violin for Christmas. She later picked up trumpet in elementary school and started studying bass guitar at Berklee as a junior in high school. Then she started writing songs.

And she hasn't stopped since.
