This week we moved on to the next leg of what has already felt like a long race for the Republican presidential nomination. Mitt Romney won with a large margin in New Hampshire, as had been long expected, but faces a tougher race in the next state up in the primary calendar: South Carolina.

Closer to home, Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic hopeful Elizabeth Warren announced huge campaign fundraising totals for the last quarter. The small Western town of Brimfield was proposed as a possible location for a future casino. And the state released its revenue projection for the next fiscal year, to which one state official said, "it's going to be another tough year." Radio Boston reviews the week that was.

Guests:

  • Penter Canellos, editorial page editor, the Boston Globe
  • Craig Sandler, general manager, State House News Service

This program aired on January 13, 2012.
