Comediennes Gather In Boston

Boston's Women In Comedy Festival kicks off Wednesday night in Cambridge featuring stand-up and workshops through Sunday.

Earlier this week, Radio Boston chatted with two of the festival headliners, Carol Leifer and Wendy Liebman.

Carol Leifer is a three-time Emmy nominee, recognized for her writing on shows like "Seinfeld," "Saturday Night Live," "The Larry Sanders Show" and the Academy Awards. She's also the author of the bestselling book "When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win."

Wendy Liebman, now based in Los Angeles, has appeared on many shows including David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Liebman makes it full circle with this week's return to the Boston. She got her start doing open mic nights here in Boston just after graduating from Wellesley College.
