The Massachusetts race for U.S. Senate is already the most expensive in the country, and on Monday Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren announced her biggest quarterly haul yet.

Warren's campaign raised $3.1 million in June — and a total of more than $8.6 million in the last fundraising quarter. Incumbent Sen. Scott Brown has yet to release his fundraising figures.  However, we're still wondering when the two candidates will actually begin to debate topics that matter.

Meanwhile, the question of whether or not the health insurance mandate is a tax or a fee continues to give Mitt Romney a headache.

And we discuss whether Congressman John Tierney can survive a challenge from Republican Richard Tisei -– and his brothers-in-law illegal gambling business.

Guests:

  • Nancy Dwight, former executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee
  • Susan Tracy, former Democratic State Representative

This segment aired on July 9, 2012.
