Kevin Bleyer, an Emmy Award-winning writer for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," has written the humorous, edgy speeches given by President Obama at the last three White House Correspondents Dinners.

Here's a man who's funny and savvy enough to get the president to crack jokes about Kim Kardashian. Once you do that, what's left?

Well, how about overhauling the most important political document in the country: the Constitution.

That's exactly what Bleyer did in his new book, "Me the People: One Man's Selfless Quest to Rewrite the Constitution of the United States."

Earlier this week, I got the chance to talk with Bleyer at forum held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. It was informative and funny, so we thought we'd play you an excerpt.

You can hear our entire conversation with Bleyer in a special rebroadcast at 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 on WBUR.

This segment aired on July 13, 2012.
