In a culture that is arguably obsessed with rankings, Boston can now claim bragging rights to having the country's top hospital. At least according to U.S. News And World Report, which put Massachusetts General Hospital on the top of its latest annual survey of best hospitals. Mass. General edged out Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, which had held the top spot for the past 22 years.

But what does the top ranking actually mean? To help us answer that question, we're joined by
Dr. Ashish Jha, professor of health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Guests:

  • Dr. Ashish Jha, the C. Boyden Gray Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health

This segment aired on July 17, 2012.
