More: "True Believers" is a personal take on comic book culture. It's set during the week of a comic book convention and the characters include fanboys, comic book writers, cybernetically-enhanced humans and aspiring crime fighters. Throw in a love story and hero/villian rivalry, and you've got all your bases covered.
What: Puppet Showplace Slam!
Where: Puppet Showplace Theatre
When: Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m.

More: Sort of like a poetry or story slam — the Puppet Showplace Slam features lots of short-form performances or mini-plays. Every act includes puppets and the performers come from all sorts of backgrounds and puppetry experience levels. This form of puppetry is for grown-ups. Little's Creatures (in the video above) have performed at slams in the past and might give you a good idea of what to expect.
What: Gardner After Hours: Wanderlust
Where: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

More: This month's edition of Gardner After Hours will feature Isabella Stewart Gardner's travel journals and a conversation about her journey's through Japan, China, Cambodia, Java, Burma and India in 1883 and 1884. There will also be gallery talks focused on her travels and the impact it had on her collections.
