Last year, 13-year-old Noah Parets, of Sharon, decided to audition for his very first play.

First auditions can be a little rough — particularly for an unseasoned thespian — but Noah got a call-back, and before he knew it, he had landed the title role in the national tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Billy Elliot."

Noah was one of four young men cast in the role of Billy, and he's in town for the next few weeks as the tour makes its stop in his home state.

“Billy Elliot The Musical” plays at the Boston Opera House through Aug. 19.
