Give or take several tens of millions, $15.96 trillion dollars is the figure on the massive National debt clock that's constantly ticking inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum, home of the Republican National Convention this week in Tampa.

Wednesday night, light from that clock will shine on the GOP's most prominent deficit hawk, Mitt Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, as he delivers the evening's keynote address.

Delegates are still buzzing about last night's keynote from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

"It's now time to stand-up, let's stand-up, everybody ... Because there's no time left to waste," Christie said. "If you're willing to stand-up with me for America's future, I will stand up with you. If you're willing to fight with me for Mitt Romney, I will fight with you."

WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov joins Radio Boston from Tampa to talk about last night's events and take a look at how delegates from the battleground state of New Hampshire responded to last night's speeches.

This segment aired on August 29, 2012.
