When it comes to success in the workplace, many businesses still measure employee performance in terms of hours worked, rather than results achieved.

Robert Pozen, a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School, and widely known in many circles to be the master of efficiency, argues that a new metric is in order for our knowledge-based society.

In his latest book, "Extreme Productivity: Boost Your Results, Reduce Your Hours," Pozen offers practical tips for increasing efficiency and argues that workplaces would be wise to think more about results and less about hours.

Guest:

  • Robert Pozen, HBS senior lecturer
