South Boston Residents Shaken By Murder Of Amy Lord

Many in the South Boston community are shaken by the kidnapping and murder of one of its residents, 24-year-old Amy Lord as she was leaving her apartment early Tuesday morning.

Police are still investigating the death, and have arrested a "person of interest" who is accused of assaulting two other women within 24 hours of the attack on Amy Lord.

The murder has many in South Boston on edge. Some gyms are offering free self-defense courses, and Boston police say applications to carry pepper spray have risen from an average of three per day to 50 applications.

Boston police have increased foot patrols in the neighborhood and this afternoon, the city is holding a community meeting to talk about safety. We get the latest on that meeting
