Think about the lives we lead in the 21st century. We've got endless basic items that chances are, we take for granted. We've got shoes, chairs, cars, processed food and medicine, to name but a few.

But one evolutionary biologist argues that it's these very creature comforts that could ultimately be doing us in.

Guests

Daniel Lieberman, chair of the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University, and author of the new book, "The Story Of The Human Body: Evolution, Health And Disease."

Carey Goldberg, co-host of WBUR's CommonHealth blog.

This segment aired on September 30, 2013.
