Thao And The Get Down Stay Down

Thao Nguyen is the lead singer and songwriter for the alternative folk group Thao and the Get Down Stay Down. Their latest album is titled We the Common, which Thao calls an attempt to "be real live [people], rather than just singing songs about them."

This effort included a move to San Francisco after seven years on the road, and a commitment to social activism, which has ultimately changed their approach to making music.

Thao and the Get Down Stay Down are currently on tour, and they'll be performing at the Royale Nightclub in Boston on Friday and Saturday.
