The music of Della Mae is self-described as "man-grass," but it's all woman -- 5 of them to be exact. What began as a gimmick has become a foot-stomping force to be reckoned with in the bluegrass world and beyond.

They join us in-studio to perform songs off of their new album, This World Oft Can Be, and to talk about being a band of all women in a male-dominated genre.

Della Mae performs tonight at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge.

Guests

Kimber Ludiker, fiddle and founder of Della Mae.

Celia Woodsmith, lead vocalist.

Courtney Hartman, guitar.

Shelby Means, upright bass.

Jenni Lyn Gardner, mandolin.
