Storm Rolls Into New England

Thursday's snow storm could make for an arduous commute home.

Gov. Deval Patrick is sent state workers home at 3 p.m. today and is asking private employers to do the same.

"We have a serious and significant storm, which will affect the whole of the state through today and into tomorrow," the governor said during a noon press conference at the State House. "The hazards, in addition to snow, include strong winds, extremely cold temperatures and the potential for coastal flooding."

He is expected to give another update this evening.

8-10 inches are expected to fall across most of the state by the time the storm ends tomorrow, with 10-12 inches along the coast.
