In a 6-3 decision from the Supreme Court Wednesday, the justices ruled that Aereo, the innovative TV streaming service is illegal.

Aereo, which has offices in New York and Boston, uses tiny antennas to capture broadcast signals and deliver them to consumers for a fee — a much smaller fee than cable companies.

The ruling was a big win for TV networks, and blocks what could have been a revolutionary — and much cheaper way for Americans to watch television.
