Report: Walsh Cuts Casino Deal, Denies East A Boston Vote

The Boston Globe is reporting Mayor Marty Walsh has made a deal with the developer of the proposed Suffolk Downs casino in Revere, which denies residents of East Boston the chance to vote on a proposal. The news is just the latest twist in the ongoing battle over casino gambling in the city.

Walsh will accept an offer from casino developer Mohegan Sun that would pay the city to offset the effects of a Revere casino at Suffolk Downs but would not allow East Boston residents to hold their own binding vote on the project, said a person in the administration familiar with the negotiations."
