Thursday night, President Obama will announce an executive action that could protect millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation and allow many of them to work legally in the United States. The president's action comes amid a bitter partisan debate in Washington that has stalled Congressional action on immigration reform.

Even before hearing the president's address, Republicans have condemned the action, accusing him of overstepping his authority.
