The Pawtucket Red Sox have been sold. The Triple A affiliate of the Red Sox was bought by a group of investors led by Sox team president, Larry Lucchino, according to The Boston Globe.

The Pawtucket Red Sox have played at McCoy Stadium since 1973, but the acquisition of the team by new owners means that could come to an end.

Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien has said that would be "devastating."
