As the classic psychological thriller celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we look at why Martha's Vineyard was the ideal location.

"Edgartown was the just the most pristine little town," explained production manager Joe Alves. "The concept of a shark destroying their summer was just so unbelievable because they were so white picket fence."
